How the SAFE Initiative and SAFEin handle information for schools, educators, and families.
Last updated: May 2026
The SAFE Initiative is a program of Brightside Behavioral Health LLC, a licensed behavioral health practice based in Rhode Island. SAFEin is the AI-supported web application built for educators participating in the SAFE Initiative. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what we do not do.
The safein.org website is a static marketing site. We do not use advertising trackers, behavioral analytics, or fingerprinting technologies. When you visit this site, your hosting provider (Vercel) may log standard server data including your IP address and browser type solely for the purpose of serving the page. We do not access or use this log data for marketing or profiling.
If you fill out the interest form on the For Schools page, that form is powered by Tally. The information you submit (your name, email address, school or district name, and anything else you choose to include) is received by Brightside Behavioral Health and used only to respond to your inquiry and determine if your school is a fit for the pilot program. We do not sell or share this information with third parties.
SAFEin is a tool for educators, not students. When an educator uses SAFEin, they type a description of a situation they are observing. This input is processed by an AI model to generate a clinician-guided response.
By design, SAFEin does not collect:
Educators are instructed to describe situations in general terms without naming students. SAFEin does not validate or enforce this, but it is a condition of participation in the SAFE Initiative and is documented in the participation agreement signed by each school.
SAFEin uses an AI model provided by Anthropic, PBC. Text submitted by educators is sent to Anthropic's API for processing. Anthropic's enterprise terms of service prohibit them from training their models on data submitted through this API. No educator input or AI response is used to train or improve AI models.
Anthropic's privacy practices are governed by their own privacy policy, available at anthropic.com/privacy.
SAFEin does not retain educator session transcripts after the session ends. There is no history view, no stored query log, and no record of what a specific educator asked or received as a response. Aggregate, non-identifiable usage statistics (such as the number of requests processed) may be retained for program reporting purposes.
This website does not use tracking or advertising cookies. SAFEin may use a session cookie to maintain your school's access during a single browser session. This cookie contains no personal information and expires when you close your browser.
SAFEin is not accessible to or intended for use by students or minors. It is an educator-only tool. We do not knowingly collect any information from or about students.
